
Carol Cox has lived a life filled with art, design, travel, beauty and nature. She is the creator of Ginkgo Leaf Studio, a growing company that helps women from all walks of improve their lives through Pilates and other mindfulness-based work. Her primary focus is on the holistic nature of Pilates, and she is passionate about promoting the fact that this efficient method is not just a physical workout, but a mind-body method that is beneficial for everyone from athletes to those with physical limitations.
For nearly a decade, Carol has taught classical Pilates at local gyms, studios, corporate offices, private homes, and at her studio in Bethesda. She is a Pilates Method Alliance Certified Pilates Teacher, having learned directly from many of the most prominent teacher trainers in the field, and has experience with many other mind-body modalities such as yoga, breath work, meditation, and imagery. She holds a BA in art history, and an MA in interior design, and is a Reiki practitioner.
Carol teaches from a place of strong intuition and broad knowledge, creating a unique, cutting-edge Pilates experience that is always personalized for the body in front of her. She currently works with beginners, seasoned practitioners, mature students, post rehab clients, and those with ongoing medical conditions, and is working on exciting new programs for introduction in 2012.
